Hulu Desktop

Hulu Desktop is a fascinating piece of software that permits the viewing of TV series, feature films, and various clips right from the convenience of a desktop. Since this tool runs independently, there is also no need to even launch a web browser.

When launching the program, Hulu Desktop will present users with a snippet of a TV show or movie. Thankfully, one is not required to finish these previews before browsing is allowed. Clicking on one of the three buttons displayed beneath the video will advance users into the browsing section. Those with pre-existing Hulu accounts on other devices or online will be able to log into their accounts and have their trends and saved viewing habits displayed. This is an excellent feature for those of us who rely on our accounts to keep track of our most binge-worthy programs.

As expected, Hulu Desktop may only be used when users have a connection to the web. No offline video streaming is currently supported. A resounding concern from account holders is the fact that some networks do not currently permit Hulu Desktop to play full-length versions of their episodes, but rather select clips that vary from about 1 to 5 minutes in length. For example, those expecting to be able to view a rerun of a cherished CBS episode on Hulu Desktop will find themselves unable to do so. That said, this issue applies to certain networks more so than it is a shortcoming of the Hulu Desktop service. The available flicks on Hulu Desktop consist of a diverse array, and all of them are of excellent audio and visual quality.
